ClickZ has a wonderful checklist this week to assess and fortify your social media IQ.
It is definitely worth reviewing the full list here, but in the meantime, I wanted to highlight the most important themes. If I had to boil this list of 30 down to three items, they would be:
1. Are you listening first? It’s the first and most critical step in social media. Worry about the tools to listen before you worry about the means to spread your message.
2. Are you planning next? Do you have a goal in mind, policies in place and staff buy-in and support?
3. Are you above all wonderful? Your success in social media hinges on your ability to provide fantastic content and be a terrific conversationalist. Lame content equals anemic engagement.
