The four letter word that matters most in nonprofit marketing

L.O.V.E.
As in:
1.) Make your supporters feel loved.
2.) Show (don’t tell) the love you feel for the good you make possible.
Be brave and unabashed on both counts. When you do, people stop in their tracks and start feeling right along with you.
Don’t just tell stories. Tell love stories.
Here are two amazing love stories for inspiration. Thanks Mark Rovner and Rebecca Higman for sending them to me!
Love of Liberia:
Liberia: soap and healing. from charity: water on Vimeo.
Love of Two People:

Katya,
What a wonderfully short but to the point and effective post!
I like when you say, “Show (don’t tell) the love you feel for the good you make possible.”
In other words, it’s what you do, and not what you say…
Actions speak louder than words!
I L.O.V.E.D. your post! ![]()

Thank you so much for posting this. This videos are very touching and it gives the real meaning of L.O.V.E. I salute you Katya.
I lit up when I saw this post, because THIS is the realm in which I work everyday, trying to help nonprofits translate their amazing work into love stories that tug at the heart. It is fitting that you should include two videos to illustrate your point, as I believe video to be the ideal and perhaps most powerful medium through which to craft such a love story.
Great post! Thanks for making my day!
