In honor of Independence Day, praise for lone nuts and first followers

For a long time, a wonderful viral video of an outdoor concert has been making the rounds. In the video, one guy begins dancing in the grass and gets an entire lawn to follow.
Seth Godin linked to this even better version: it explains why the shirtless dancing guy holds a lesson in leadership - and a reminder that movements are made not just from a “lone nut” but also from the first follower. This Independence Day, be a fearless leader of your cause but don’t be afraid to be the first follower of someone else’s. Bravely following a lone leader is as great an act of independence as leading your own parade, and it’s what stars social change.
Happy 4th!
