1. Educate—by candidly sharing what social media can and can’t do, by letting them experiment, and by helping them stay current with useful blogs and publications. Make clear social media is one approach to engagement - not a silver bullet and not rocket science.
2. Integrate - by adding it to an integrated set of channels. Manage expectations as you go, making clear social media takes time and effort.
3. ROI - make clear how your social media efforts will have an effect - and measure what they accomplish. At the end of the day, making a plan and showing impact are the name of the game.
