Great storytelling - get inspired by… Google

This is from Google. (Hat tip to Grace for the video.)

The average nonprofit has 100 stories at least this compelling.

We have to get better at telling them!

Just wanted to write a little comment to agree with you. I do the marketing in PR work for my nonprofit (Epilespy Foundation NE Donation Center) and as hard as it may seem somedays, we just have to stick it out and results will appear.

Katya, a well-written and informative article. Storytelling is the method that we humans have been using for transferring information since, well, since the beginning of “social media”. I tell people think of the story that you most often use at a cocktail party. If it contains your NP, then this is probably a good one to use.

I will agree and informative to me…......thanks Katya

Great story could not agree more. You have to dig out your stories and just carefully think about a different angle to present it to make it compelling. Some effort but well worth it…....

I think Google has WAY too much power over privacies but yet they give us more freedoms.

Good video, non-profits are forced to be creative with marketing, which can be just as inspiring, if not more.

I don’t know about this. I think the idea has potential. But this video doesn’t seem to be engaging enough to get people interested to see how the story continues. Especially as many organizations offer information about the progress of real children they help.
But with a really good video this idea could very well work.

All good stories really need to set off emotions within the viewer…the best stories are the ones that excite us, move us, make us think twice.  We remember the emotions we feel and that makes us remember what brought those emotions to the surface.
